Memorandum on scientific and technical cooperation signed between BSU and Myanmar Space Agency
The document was signed by Rector Andrei Karol and Chief Executive Officer Soe Myint Maung. The signing ceremony took place today, August 21, at the Independence Palace following negotiations between President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing. The heads of state discussed the current state and development prospects of bilateral cooperation, with key areas outlined in the roadmap for 2026–2028. Specifically, this concerns cooperation in industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science, and education.
Notably, the signed document defines scientific, technical, and innovative cooperation between BSU and the Myanmar Space Agency in the field of aerospace technologies. The main forms of interaction include the development and implementation of joint projects; participation in joint applications for bilateral and international grants; exchange of experience among scientists for laboratory research; preparation and publication of joint papers, collections of articles, and monographs; organization of conferences, scientific and practical seminars, etc.
It is worth noting that the partnership between BSU and the Myanmar Space Agency is already being carried out within the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2026. The document provides for the training of students from both countries under joint educational programs at all levels; conducting scientific research, including projects on satellite technology development; exchanging lecturers and scientists, as well as information, educational materials, and scientific reports; organizing conferences, seminars, workshops, and courses; and producing joint publications.
