Actual problems of design and design education will be discussed at BSU

The International scientific and practical conference «Actual problems of design and design education» will be held on 20-21 April at BSU (5 Kurchatova Street, room 412). The beginning is at 9.00. The event is organized in a face-to-face and remote format.
More than 70 scientists, teachers, postgraduates, undergraduates and researchers from Belarus and Russia will participate in the forum. These are representatives of the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, St. Petersburg University, St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Design named after A.L. Stieglitz, Ufa State Petroleum Technological University, etc.
The conference will be opened by plenary speeches and open lectures by teachers of Belarusian and Russian universities. Scientists will raise issues of improving academic disciplines in design, the formation of environmental approaches in education, discuss professional design standards, etc.
On the second day of the forum, work is organized in seven thematic sections. Experts will hear reports on the use of neural networks in visual art, the problems of urban environment design, the theory of video art, the scientific foundations of composition in costume design, the evolution of grotesque fonts, methodological methods of teaching design design, modern trends in animation, etc.
In addition, exhibitions of student works «Typography 2023: Rhythmization of the plane», «Typography 2023: Typogram/Caligram», «Typography 2023: Module» and «Koler and pachuzzi» will open within the framework of the forum. Fonts, hand-drawn graphics, ideas for the design of printed text developed by students of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Communications (FSCC) of BSU will be presented here.
Also, within the framework of the conference, an award ceremony will be held for the winners of the photo and video art contest «O₃», dedicated to the memory of Alexander Azonchik, an associate professor of the Department of Communicative Design of the FSCC. In total, more than 50 works of students of BSU, the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, the Kosygin State University of Russia, etc. Students were uated in three categories: «Mapping », «Feeling» and «Image». The participants had to formally capture a slice of everyday life, figuratively convey the inner world of a person, his emotions and experiences, as well as demonstrate professional photo and video shooting skills.
The event will be completed by a master class on drawing and painting «Philosophy of the black Square» from the teachers of FSCC of BSU.
Following the results of the forum, a collection of scientific materials will be prepared, which will be placed in the Electronic Library of BSU.
