Belarus in the eyes of a student from China: international students visited Berezovka and Mir
On April 15, international students of Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno from the People's Republic of China took a tour of the historical and industrial centers of Belarus. The excursion along the route Grodno – Berezovka – Mir – Grodno was part of a program for the adaptation of foreign citizens and their familiarization with the national heritage of our country.
The trip was organized by the Faculty of Psychology, represented by Sviatlana Shushkevich, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Experimental and Applied Psychology.
During the tour, the students visited Neman Glassworks OJSC in Berezovka, where they witnessed the process of crystal glassblowing with their own eyes. In addition, the participants visited the enterprise's museum, where they learned about the history of the plant and became acquainted with the unique techniques of Belarusian craftsmen.
In the second part of the trip, the students visited the Mir Castle Complex, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The students touched the history of the Belarusian Middle Ages: they climbed the defensive towers, walked along the galleries, and viewed the museum exhibitions.
Such events contribute to strengthening international cooperation, help international students better understand the mentality and culture of the host country, and also create a warm atmosphere of student brotherhood.
