Belarusian Schoolchildren under the Guidance of BSU Teachers Won Awards at the International Abu Rayhan Biruni Chemistry Olympiad
Belarusian schoolchildren under the guidance of teachers of the Faculty of Chemistry of BSU won four awards at the International Abu Rayhan Biruni Chemistry Olympiad (ARBIChO). The silver medalists were pupils of Gymnasium №3 of Borisov Dmitry Anishkevich and Gymnasium №41 of Minsk named after V.Kh. Serebryany Aleksey Stepanov. The bronze medal was awarded to students of Secondary school №28 of Brest Valeria Kozlova and Gymnasium №2 of Vitebsk Evgenia Sudarikova. The team was headed by Yulia Stolbunova, a specialist in educational process support of the Faculty of Chemistry of BSU.
The Olympiad consisted of two stages. The theoretical round included solving eight problems on different areas of chemistry within four hours. The practical stage involved laboratory experiments and tests.
The large-scale intellectual competition was held from 29 May to 3 June in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). This year, teams from 14 countries took part in the Olympiad.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan.
