Delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran Visits BSU

It included the Scientific Advisor at the Iranian Embassy in the Russian Federation and Head of Iranian Students in Russia, Belarus and Central Asia Hadi Goudarzi and Ali Seif, the Second Secretary of the Iranian Embassy in Belarus. A meeting with the First Vice-Rector of BSU Dmitry Kurlovich was held.

The visit of the guests was due to the intention to expand cooperation in the educational and research spheres. Diplomats were familiarized with the structure and traditions of BSU, conditions of education of foreign citizens, positions in world rankings, as well as told about the university's activities and competitive advantages. In turn, the Iranian side expressed interest in deepening cooperation. Among the discussed topics were opportunities for academic exchange of students and teachers, organization of internships and advanced training courses in Oriental studies, political sciences and international relations, joint participation in scientific events and research, etc. The diplomats also proposed organizing a forum of rectors of Belarus and Iran. 

The issue of developing agreements with the Institute for Political and International Studies of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran (IPIS) was discussed in detail. It should be noted that this proposal was made during the visit of the BSU delegation headed by the Rector of BSU Andrei Karol to Iran in 2024.
