International Graduation Evening “With Gratitude to Belarus – 2025” Held at Politech

7 July 2025

The final academic year for international students at Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel concluded with a true celebration of friendship.

On June 24, graduates from various countries gathered at the university museum for the international graduation event “With Gratitude to Belarus – 2025” to express heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported them throughout their academic journey—teachers, staff, and of course, Belarus itself, the country that welcomed them so warmly.

This year, Politech proudly celebrated the graduation of talented specialists from Iraq, India, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Russian Federation. These students not only successfully overcame academic challenges but also became true ambassadors of their cultures, enriching the university community with unique traditions and perspectives.

Each graduate walked a path full of challenges and accomplishments—mastering complex technical disciplines, thriving in a multicultural environment, exchanging experiences, and forming lasting friendships. For many, Politech became more than just a place of study; it became a home built on unity and mutual understanding.

Smiling as they reminisced about student life’s humorous moments, the graduates recognized that a new chapter was beginning. “It was an unforgettable time! Every day brought new knowledge and discoveries,” shared one graduate from India.

The evening was filled with heartfelt words of gratitude to the instructors who not only taught but also became mentors, guiding the students through exams and their first steps into professional life. “Politech changed my life,” said a graduate from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. “I found friends and discovered confidence in myself. Now I’m ready for new challenges!”

Representatives of the university’s administration, faculty deans, and the international affairs office congratulated the students on this milestone. “The doors of Politech will always remain open to you,” said Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Alexander Valeryevich Shapovalov. “You are no longer just ‘guests’—this has become your home. You’ve completed a challenging yet fascinating journey. I sincerely hope the knowledge you’ve gained will serve you well and that all your aspirations will come true.”

The celebration also included parting words of encouragement, reminding graduates not to stop here but to keep learning and working to find their rightful place in life. Many expressed a desire to stay in Belarus, seeing it as a land of opportunity for career growth and the realization of their ideas.

To commemorate their years at Politech, graduates received keepsakes that will serve as warm reminders of a time filled with achievements, friendships, and student joy. The evening concluded with a performance of the student anthem “Gaudeamus.”

Let us continue writing this inspiring story of friendship and collaboration together.

Congratulations to all graduates—and best wishes as you embark on the next exciting stage of life!
