Clinical signs of pre-clinical manifestations of internal diseases were discussed by the participants of the Belarusian-Uzbek seminar at Belarusian State Medical University

In compliance with the State Program “Health of the Nation” for the years 2026–2030, and also aiming at the implementation of the tasks, determined by Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the Field of Healthcare between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the 21st of January, there was held international scientific and practical seminar with the application of telemedicine technologies "Clinical signs of pre-clinical manifestations of internal diseases: significance for primary prevention, treatment and prognosis determination".

The seminar is one of the events of the long-term cooperation between Belarusian State Medical University and the Center for the Development of Professional Qualification of Medical Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. An important element of cooperation is the improvement of scientific work. Research centers conduct joint research, prepare joint publications, review scientific projects and dissertations, and participate in scientific and practical conferences held in the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan. It has become a good tradition to hold scientific and practical seminars using telemedicine technologies, dedicated to the Days of Belarusian Science. The topic of this year's webinar emphasizes the need for preventive measures, early diagnosis of non-communicable diseases, and their importance for treatment and prognosis.

The event began with opening remarks by Dmitry Chuikov, Vice-Rector for International Relations of Belarusian State Medical University, and Munirahon Sadykzhanovna Kasimova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Center for the Development of Professional Qualification of Medical Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Professor Ulugbek Kayumov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Internal Diseases of the Center for the Development of Professional Qualification of Medical Workers of Uzbekistan, presented a report entitled "The Clinical Course of Prediabetes".

The webinar was continued by Marina Shtonda, Head of the Therapy Department of Belarusian State Medical University, PhD in Medicine, and Associate Professor (the topic of the presentation was "Obesity and cardiometabolic risks"), Head of the Department of Internal Diseases of the Center for the Development of Professional Qualification of Medical Workers, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Aziz Ibragimov and Associate Professor of the Department of Internal Diseases, Candidate of Medical Sciences Magdiya Maksumova (the topic of the presentation: “Early and atypical manifestations of coronary heart disease: clinical signs and rare changes on the ECG”).

At the end of the seminar, Vadim Sushinsky, Associate Professor of the Department of Therapy of Belarusian State Medical University, PhD in Medicine presented a report entitled "Hyperuricemia as a Risk Factor for Cardiovascular Diseases".

After the presentations, there was a discussion between Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Ulugbek Kayumov and Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Vadim Sushinsky.

Interns, clinical residents, and students of advanced training courses of Belarusian State Medical University and the Center for the Development of Professional Qualification of Medical Workers of Uzbekistan were invited to the webinar. According to the seminar participants, continued close cooperation between our two institutions provides a platform for the improvement of the delivery of medical care in healthcare organizations.
