The BSU team became the winner of the Eurasian Student Olympiad in Analytical Economics and Forecasting
The team of BSU «The Method of maximum guessing» became the winner of the Eurasian Student Olympiad in analytical economics and forecasting. It included fourth-year students of the Faculty of Economics Victoria Suboch, Vlad Ermak, Veronika Mozhar, Ilya Chergeyko. The second place was awarded to students of the National Research University «Higher School of Economics» as part of the team «4 degrees of freedom». The bronze medalist was the «Covariance Cube» team from Kuban State University. The winners of special nominations were also determined. Thus, «Tengri» ESIL University (Kazakhstan), «Estimators» of the Faculty of Economics of BSU and «Sharks of Econometrics» of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) were recognized as the best in the category of «Integration Experts». The team of «E-viewers» of the Faculty of Economics of BSU was awarded in the nomination «Advanced econometricians». The students from the Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod «UNNye analysts», MIREA - Russian Technological University «Analysts of RTU MIREA», the Belarusian State Economic University «Young Analysts of BSEU» had the «the best solution to the economic case». The team «Economists without a calculator» of St. Petersburg State University of Economics was awarded in the nomination «Mentor Sympathies». In total, 15 student teams from Belarusian, Russian and Kazakh universities took part in the economic battles. These are representatives from BSU, BSEU, Kuban State University, St. Petersburg State University of Economics, the State Institute of Economics, Finance, Law and Technology, MIREA - Russian Technological University, Kazakh University of Economy, Finance and International Trade, etc. The finalists solved problems from the economic case, and also presented the results of research conducted within the framework of the correspondence qualifying round. The students worked on the description of the analysis and calculations to assess the potential of Belarus' trade with the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Recall that the Olympiad has been held since 2014 in order to stimulate students' interest in the study of economic sciences and mathematical analysis tools, fundamental economic and mathematical disciplines. Over 1000 students have become participants during the conference.
The Olympiad was organized by the Economics Faculty of BSU.
