VSU visits TV and radio company
21 April 2023
On April 7, the MASHEROVfilm team visited the TV and radio company Vitebsk. The students were able to get to know the creation of what everyone used to see daily on their TV screens and listen to on the radio.
The management of the TRK "Vitebsk" gave a glimpse into the kitchen of modern television and radio, giving a detailed tour of each of the studios. First, the students ended up in the room where the program "Evening Vitebsk" was filmed. The studio was equipped with professional equipment, about the work and characteristics of which the Masherovtsy received the most detailed lecture. The students were able to try themselves as a cameraman: control the cameras and change the lighting. After that, Masherovtsy became the heroes of the Evening Vitebsk program for a couple of minutes, taking several memorable pictures.
The next point of the route was the director's room, where you could catch the work of employees who made up a playlist for playing programs on channels. From this studio, Masherovtsy learned about color correction of footage, the diversity of cameras and transitions, playing films and making live broadcasts.
The students managed to visit the radio studio, where they watched the work of Anya Zlatova, the well-known host of daytime shows and author's programs, and were delighted with such a meeting and the opportunity to communicate with a real professional. In the same place, the Masherovites learned all the subtleties of sound recording, the choice of news sources, creation of a capacious text, correct and interesting dubbing.
The tour ended with a trip to the studio to record the news. There, VSU students learned how the presenter voices the text when he is on the air, what is used to remove a possible difference in height, and why a chroma key is needed.
The MASHEROVfilm team received an incredible amount of emotions and, of course, invaluable knowledge that they can use in the future for the benefit of their university. Masherovtsy thank TRC "Vitebsk" for the opportunity, as well as the invaluable experience that they received during the tour!
