The international scientific-practical conference "Problems of fighting crime and training for law enforcement agencies"
The international scientific-practical conference "Problems of fighting crime and training for law enforcement agencies" was held today at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The forum, which brought together delegations from Azerbaijan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, was timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the capital's departmental university.
Opening the conference, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Major-General of Militia Dmitry Korzyuk noted that the international scientific forum on combating crime and training qualified personnel for law enforcement agencies has been held since 1997, becoming the hallmark of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and a good tradition.
- We express our deep gratitude to the representatives of more than 70 educational institutions and organizations that responded to the invitation. Undoubtedly, such meetings are necessary for more effective multilateral cooperation and constructive partnership in the face of the increasing complexity of the work of law enforcement agencies and the consolidation of international crime. The creation of reliable mechanisms for its prevention and suppression is the most important joint task, - Dmitry Mikhailovich emphasized.
Within the framework of the forum, a solemn presentation of diplomas of a candidate of sciences and certificates of an associate professor to employees of the police Alma Mater took place.
The head of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Major General of Militia Alexander Vasiliev, spoke in detail about the issues of training such specialists and creating conditions for research.
- For the first time the university received the status of a scientific organization in 2012 and since then it has been constantly confirming it successfully, - Alexander Pavlovich drew attention. - Over the past five years, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has taken part in the implementation of 70 research projects, including within the framework of state research programs, the UN development program, assignments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, aimed at finding new practical methods for combating crime.
Representatives of foreign delegations spoke about their positive experience in solving the tasks facing their departments. Following the results of the plenary session, the participants agreed to increase interaction and exchange of experience in the law enforcement sphere.
Head of the Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia named after V.Ya. Kikotya Police Lieutenant General Igor Kalinichenko:
- The forum was attended by colleagues from different countries, with whom partnerships and close relationships have been established. Thank you for the opportunity to exchange experiences and opinions on topical issues. In order to effectively counter crime in the current difficult conditions, it is important to work together to solve a number of tasks facing law enforcement officers. This is what we are doing successfully, year by year increasing and strengthening theoretical and practical cooperation.
Head of the University of Public Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan Colonel Mirzayusup Rustambaev:
- I express my deep gratitude to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the leadership of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus for organizing the conference. We have signed a Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation with the university.
Active bilateral cooperation is confirmed by the exchange of delegations from among the teaching staff, the conduct of joint scientific research. The Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus has a huge scientific potential, a high level of training. The experience gained at the conference is valuable for us.
