Creative film marathon for stusents of the preparatory department of the ICF BNTU

22 May 2026

During this academic year, international students from the preparatory department of the ICF embarked on a true creative “film marathon”: they collected in their collection almost all the films produced by the Belarusfilm film studio in recent times.

Their collection includes films such as One for Two, Form teacher, A Turning Point, and others. Motivational, educational, and touching stories helped the students better understand cultural meanings, learn to take a thoughtful approach to the characters, and find important life guidelines in what they watched.

The students also note that on the screen there is no artificial pathos: everything is shown simply and genuinely, without “polishing” the reality – so the picture in the frame is almost no different from what they see and encounter in Belarus. This makes the viewing especially valuable: because film becomes not just entertainment, but a kind of “bridge” between studies, everyday life, and culture.

Belarusian cinema was so well received by the students that they even visited the Belarusfilm studio with an excursion. They were able to see how the process of making films works: how the specialists do their jobs, how the atmosphere of future films is created, and what kind of hard work produces the shots that viewers later rewatch again and again.

By the end of the academic year, the students of the preparatory department became real fans of Belarusian cinema. They said that the films not only entertain, but also teach people to think, empathize, learn something new – and, most importantly, help them adapt faster to a culture that is new for them.
