Scientists from five countries will discuss the development of university libraries
The discussion will take place within the framework of the XXII International Scientific and Practical Conference «Management of university libraries». It is organized with the participation of BSU in full-time and distance format on 28-29 September (30 Internatsionalnaya Street). It starts at 10.00. This year the forum is timed to the 90th anniversary of the Music and Scientific Library of the Belarusian State Academy of Music (BSAM).
The topic of the current scientific meeting is «The University Library on the track of changes». Its discussion will be held with the participation of more than 200 scientists, experts, managers, specialists of libraries, information centers, publishing houses, bookselling organizations from Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The participants will consider the stated topic within the framework of three sessions: «Adaptation of information and library support to modern conditions», «Modern art libraries in the educational space», «Information resources in library activities». The issues of the remote form of library work will be considered here; the role of libraries in the integration of science into the global scientific information space; acquisition, preservation and use of the information resource base, providing access to them in a higher education institution, etc. In particular, the director of the Fundamental Library of BSU, Vladimir Kulazhenko, will moderate the plenary session and a number of sessions, and will also present a report «Do not get lost in three missions: statistical guide to the university libraries of Belarus».
The conference program includes an educational seminar «Building an effective model for the promotion of electronic resources by the library» and a master class on working in the automated integrated library system «MegaPro».
The conference is organized by the Fundamental Library of BSU, the Belarusian Library Association and the Music and Scientific Library of BSAM.
