Visit by the delegation from Shenyang University of Technology
On November 14-15, an official delegation from Shenyang University of Technology visited Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk.
Shenyang University of Technology is located in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province and one of the largest cities in Northeast China. This multidisciplinary higher education institution offers programmes in engineering, natural sciences, economics, management, humanities, and law. Currently, Shenyang University of Technology has an enrollment of approximately 32,000 students, including 3,800 postgraduate students and 214 international students.

The delegation was headed by Jia Yuming, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Communist Party of China at the University.
As part of the visit, a strategic session was held between the administration of Polotsk University and the guests from Shenyang, dedicated to the prospects for cooperation. The parties discussed key areas of partnership, including the development of joint educational programmes and majors, the implementation of bilateral research projects, and academic exchange programs. The meeting participants expressed interest in joining efforts to train personnel in line with the modern challenges of the global economy.
The Chinese delegation was introduced to the university's scientific and technical potential in the field of hydrocarbon energy. Polotsk University is the only higher education institution in our country that features a complete line of digital twins for Belarus's gas distribution system. A specialized software and network solution has been implemented to ensure stable and secure operation. This provides the university with "here and now" access to updated versions of digital tools, guaranteeing the relevance of training scenarios and ensuring that practical training aligns with modern industrial standards.
Representatives of Shenyang University of Technology visited the Pipeline Transport Laboratory and the Oil and Gas Processing Research Laboratory, as well as the Smart Education Technology Center and the Center for Technological Creativity. The tour participants gained an understanding of modern approaches to education and innovation in the industrial sector, as well as the advanced technologies used in the gas distribution system.
The guests from China explored the history of Novopolotsk at the city museum, learned about the development stages of the oil refining industry at the museum of joint-stock company "Naftan", and visited the company's innovative industrial complex. The day's programme concluded with a meeting with leading specialists of joint-stock company "Naftan", where the participants discussed modern technological trends in the oil refining industry and prospects for cooperation.
The delegation's second day was dedicated to exploring the traditions and innovations of higher education in the Polotsk region. The guests visited St. Sophia Cathedral and the Polotsk Collegium – sites that reflect Belarus's rich cultural heritage and serve as symbols of continuity between generations.
The Polotsk Collegium serves as a clear example of how educational traditions can be preserved and developed while adapting to the challenges of the time. The guests also emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage for the formation of national identity.
The visit of the Shenyang University of Technology delegation has laid a solid foundation for long-term and fruitful cooperation between the educational institutions, opening up new opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers.
