World Poetry Day
On March 21, 2023, an event dedicated to World Poetry Day was held at the Faculty of Russian for Foreign Citizens.
Poetry Day was established in 1999 at the 30th session of the General Conference of UNESCO. It was first celebrated on March 21, 2000 in Paris. Since that day, it has been celebrated in all major countries of the world.
"Poetry Marathon" brought together poetry lovers from around the world in one audience. Students of the Faculty of Russian Language for Foreign Citizens and students of the Faculty of English prepared for this day poems by famous authors not only in Russian, but also in their native languages. A pleasant surprise for everyone was the speech in Chinese by the Belarusian student Elizaveta Veremeychik (Faculty of English). Students listened to poems and songs with great interest and attention and participated in the quiz.
The final chord of the event was a wonderful Russian romance performed by Nikolai Nikolaevich Fedorovich, senior teacher of the Department of Slavic Languages. The event was held in a very warm, friendly atmosphere, leaving students with only positive emotions and impressions.
