Belarus State Economic University

The Belarus State Economic University (BSEU) is the country’s leading higher educational institution in economics. In 2023 BSEU celebrated its 90th anniversary. Over the years, the University has trained over 185 thousand specialists who work not only in the Republic of Belarus but also in many other countries. The infrastructure of the educational and scientific complex of the Belarus State Economic University consists of 11 faculties, 44 departments, the Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Economic Personnel. There are also functioning English-language master's programs BSEU is one of the largest universities in with over 14 000 students annually, more than 600 of whom are international BSEU remains responsive to the evolving demands of the financial sector and the real economy. The University actively integrates the principles of sustainable development into its core activities, including education, research, civic education, and student development.

The University employs over 50 Advanced Doctors of Sciences and Full Professors, as well as more than 300 Ph.D. and Associate Professors. BSEU-authored textbooks and teaching materials are widely used in Belarus and beyond.

In 2007 Belarus State Economic University was accredited as a research organization by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
There are 10 scientific and pedagogical schools under the guidance of well-known scientists; three journals and a scientific papers collection are published and included in the scientific publications list of the Republic of Belarus for publishing the dissertation research results.

Although Belarus State Economic University is a humanities‑oriented university, it successfully runs 31 student research laboratories. To support youth innovation and implement the best student research projects and ideas, the University has established 2 business incubators – one based at the Faculty of Commerce and Tourism Industry, and the other at the Faculty of Economics and Management. BSEU has signed more than a hundred agreements and cooperation contracts with higher education institutions, research and educational organizations from in the near and far abroad. Belarus State Economic University is a member of several international organizations and associations. Through its international partnerships, it ensures the training of highly qualified specialists.

The academic staff of the University consistently participate in knowledge-0exchange initiatives with international partners. Notably, BSEU hosts lectures delivered by native speakers. Although it is not specialized linguistic institution, the language training provided in the University is maintained at a high standart.The BSEU e-Library contains over 75,5 thousand documents.

BSEU uses the latest technologies in education including distance educational programs, project-based method and digital technologies.

In 2025 Belarus State Economic University was received official certification as a business school, confirming the high quality of its educational programs and opening up new opportunities for training managers and professional leaders capable of effectively addressing the challenges of modern business.

BSEU is represented in international rankings (Webometrics, The Ranking Web of Repositories, and UniRank), as well as in the Russian Science Citation Index. The University continuously monitors its progress in these rankings, with results regularly reviewed by the University Council and the Rector's Office.

In 2025 Belarus State Economic University entered the national segment of the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking for the first time and secured the first place, becoming the leader among higher education institutions in the Republic of Belarus.
