1996 The University gains the status of basic educational institution in chemical technology and forestry in Belarus.

2005 The University gains the status of leading higher educational institution in forestry, chemical and printing industries

2009 BSTU is the first among educational institutions in Belarus, to implement the education quality management system, conforming to Belarusian Certification System, STB ISO 9001-2009, and German Certification System, DDIN EN ISO 9001-2008.

2011 The University is awarded Governmental Prize for Quality Management

2012 BSTU began training specialists in English language.

2013 BSTU houses 5 affiliated colleges. The university comprises 40 R&D laboratories and centers, of which 14 have been created over the past years. There are 18 affiliated departments and 34 educational-scientific-production centers of BSTU at the leading industrial enterprises of Belarus.

2014 The Institute for Retraining and Professional Development was organized

2015 BSTU is recognized as the best national university and awarded the Honorary Diploma of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus for its high performance in the field of training highly-qualified researchers

2016 BSTU is listed on the Board of Honor of the Leninski district of Minsk for the results of 2015.

2018 The Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Petrochemical Technologies and Production was established at BSTU

2019 BSTU is the first among universities in Belarus and the CIS countries accredited to carry out research and testing in the interests of residents and partners of the Skolkovo Foundation. The Centre of collective use of the unique expensive equipment (Centre of physical and chemical investigation methods) which includes 8 research laboratories has been formed in BSTU. The State Committee accredits the university as the scientific organization for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. More than 75 000 graduates of the University work successfully in the areas of chemical and petrochemical industry, composite materials, information technology industry, programming and cyber security, global geoinformation systems, forestry and added-value wood processing, industrial construction materials, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical media, printing, automation and robotics, to ensure national and environmental security, economics, electronic marketing, etc. Among the graduates, there are famous scientists, academicians, state prize laureates, ministers, and heads of large industrial associations and enterprises that build on the intellectual capacity of modern Belarus.

2021 A dedicated potash fertilizer training laboratory was opened at BSTU using the existing training laboratory of the Department of Inorganic Substances Technology and General Chemical Engineering. It was re-equipped to conduct research for Slavkali LLC, as well as internships, advanced training courses, and retraining of engineering and technical personnel.

2022 A military department was opened at BSTU. Training is provided in two military specialties: "Combat Use of Motorized Rifle Units, Parts, and Formations in Infantry Fighting Vehicles" and "Organization of Combined Arms Logistics."

2023 BSTU received state accreditation for compliance with the "University" category.

2024 BSTU became the first higher education institution to receive a certificate of compliance for its competency-building management system with the requirements of STB ISO 21001-2021, the international version of ISO 21001:2018, along with certificates for its quality management system for compliance with the requirements of STB ISO 9001-2015 in the National Conformity Assessment System.

2025 Two new study programs were launched at BSTU: "Design and Technology of Unmanned Aerial Systems" and "Chemical Technology of Energy-Intensive Materials and Products." The joint institute, "DTU -BSTU," has been established at the Dalian University of Technology (Dalian, Liaoning Province, China). In cooperation with educational institutions of the People's Republic of China the university implements integrated educational programs for the joint training of professionals with higher education in the fields of "Landscape Design and Construction," "Software Engineering," "Information Systems and Technology," "Industrial Processing Machines and Equipment," and "Automation of Technological Processes and Production". BSTU has been included in the Moscow International University Ranking "Three University Missions" for the first time. BSTU has been certified by the Department of Aviation of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus for the training of civil unmanned aerial vehicle operators. The Council of Ministers of the Union State has designated Belarusian State Technological University as the Flagship University for the Creation of the Union State Network University of High Technologies.
