Key Achievement
The University offers education within 6 faculties: General Medicine, Medical Diagnostics, Medical Preventive Medicine, International Students, Pre-University Training, and Continuing Education and Retraining. The university has 4,258 students, including over 1,000 international students from 35 countries studying in Russian and English.
The University's practice-oriented education is offered in 39 departments, as well as an assessment and simulation center equipped with modern simulation equipment. The University also offers 19 large, modern clinics for training, as well as the Gomel University Clinic, a professorial advisory center, a research laboratory, a personalized medicine laboratory, an information and publishing center, and more.

In April 2010, Gomel State Medical University received an International certificate of compliance for its quality management system with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. This certificate certifies that the quality management system for the design and implementation of educational activities in the field of medical education (preparatory courses, preparatory department); university (first and second levels of education); postgraduate (internship, internship, clinical residency, postgraduate program) complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008. In 2023, a certificate of compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 was received.
In March 2012, the University was accredited by the State Committee on Science and Technology and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus as a scientific organization.
In December 2021, Gomel State Medical University received International institutional accreditation according to the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education.
The University is accredited by the Medical Councils of India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and the Maldives, and is included in the World Directory of Medical Schools. It is recognized by the ECFMG, GMC, and other institutions.
