About 70 young scientists from four countries will discuss intercultural communication at BSU

The International scientific and Practical Conference «Intercultural Communication in the modern world» will be held on 23-24 November at BSU (5 Kurchatova Street, room 412). It starts at 11.50.

About 70 students, scientists and teachers from Belarus, Russia, China and Armenia will participate in the forum. These are representatives of BSU, Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University, the National Institute For Higher Education, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, St. Petersburg University, RUDN University, Yerevan State University, etc.

The work of the conference will begin with a plenary session. Here Anatoly Rykov, Professor of the Department of History of Western European Art at the Institute of History of St. Petersburg State University, will talk about the problems of modern intercultural communication and the head of the Department of Arts and Environmental Design of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Communications (FSCC) of BSU Igor Dukhan will consider the artistic aspect in the work «The Spiritual situation of time» by K. Jaspers. Alexander Burachonok, Dean of FSCC of BSU, will also present a report on the business activity of Germans as an element of intercultural communication in the socio-economic context of Belarus in the second half of the XIX – early XX centuries, etc.

The discussion will continue within the framework of four round tables. Experts will discuss the intercultural conflicts of the modern network society, ways and means of ensuring cultural security in the context of globalization, national cultural heritage, linguistic support of intercultural communications, etc. After that, young scientists will present the results of their research in the field of cultural studies, design, music, psychology and sociology.

Following the results of the forum, a collection of scientific materials will be prepared, which will be published in the BSU Electronic Library.
