UMTE delegation visited BSTU

June 5, a delegation from the St. Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics, consisting of a group of students from the Institute of Economics and Finance under the leadership of the head of the external communications department, Georgy Valerievich Varlamov, visited BSTU. The purpose of the visit was to establish contacts and discuss possible formats and directions of interuniversity cooperation.

A meeting of the delegation with the management, teachers and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Economics of BSTU took place. Dean of the faculty Andrey Olferovich introduced the guests to the history of the faculty, its educational programs and main areas of activity. Associate Professor of the Department of Management, Business Technology and Sustainable Development Elena Meshcheryakova spoke about the student economic research club “EconoMix” headed by her and the results of the club’s activities for 2023. A discussion took place on promising forms and areas of cooperation, in which the parties noted student exchanges, participation in scientific, technical and educational events held on the basis of both parties, joint competitions of student projects, and others.

Students of the St. Petersburg university also had the opportunity to meet with members of SNIEC and took part in training on the development of communicative competencies. Students of the 2nd and 3rd years of the specialty “International Management” interactively demonstrated skills in the art of argumentation and working with objections, and also completed an exercise on the use of NLP (neurolinguistic programming) in management communication.

The UMTE delegation visited the BSTU xylotheque, which recently received the status of a national treasure of the republic, as well as the game management room, the museum of the history of BSTU education and the exhibition of scientific and technical developments of university scientists.

The signing of the Cooperation Agreement between BSTU and UMTE is scheduled for the end of June 2024 and will take place within the framework of the upcoming XI Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus.
