Two new documents on cooperation with Chinese universities were signed during the visit of the BSU delegation headed by Rector Andrei Karol to China. The agreements reached will contribute to the development of international relations in the field of education, science and technology. For this purpose, a memorandum of understanding has been certified with Sichuan International Studies University, providing for various forms of interaction. These include academic exchange of students, teachers, implementation of joint educational, research programs and projects, exchange of information, educational materials and scientific reports, organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, courses, preparation of collective publications. In particular, the parties discussed in detail the prospects of cooperation in the field of regional studies, linguistics and Belarusian studies.

During the visit to Sichuan International Studies University, the delegation of BSU also held a meeting with the leadership of the Center for the Study of Belarus. He has been working at this university since 2019 and contributes to the dissemination of knowledge about Belarus, cultural and educational events. The specialists of the center are part of the expert «pool» for the research of our country at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. To strengthen the material base, books and objects of national handicrafts were transferred to the center. The parties also expressed mutual interest in the joint preparation of a publication about the Republic of Belarus.

The second document signed was an agreement on the exchange of students with China University of Political Science and Law. This document prescribes in detail the intentions of the parties to develop partnership within the framework of the memorandum of understanding between the universities in force since March 2023 and concerns the training of graduates of a Chinese university in the magistracy of BSU in legal specialties, the provision of grant support for the implementation of academic mobility programs. The issue of joining the Chinese University to the activities of the SCO Research Center, established at BSU jointly with Qingdao University, was also considered.

The visit to China University of Political Science and Law continued with a meeting with students and teachers. They were introduced to the structure and specialties of BSU, told about the advantages of studying at a Belarusian university and the features of the educational process, taking into account the use of innovative techniques.

Recall that the visit of the BSU delegation to China provided for a number of meetings with Chinese partners to discuss issues of expanding interuniversity cooperation, export development, popularization of the BSU experience in the international educational space. Also during the visit to China, the opening of the Information and Recruiting Educational Center of BSU in Chengdu took place, a new University network of research Cooperation was established and the First International Congress on Scientific and Technical Exchanges «One Belt, One Road» was held, one of the organizers of which was BSU.
