BNTU welcomed Tunji University delegation

On June 18, 2024, BNTU received a delegation from Tongji University (Shanghai, People's Republic of China). The delegation included Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Peng Zhenwei, Director of the International Students Office Chen Yili, Dean of the Graduate School, Deputy Director of the Degree Evaluation Committee Office in charge of working on degrees, multi-campus and comprehensive works Xi Huiwen, Associate Professor of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering of the College of Civil Engineering Zhou Zhengzheng.

At the beginning of the visit, the guests were presented with the innovative developments of the Scientific and Technological Park of the BNTU "Polytechnic". The general director of the technology park, G.A. Vershina, among other things, paid attention to the topic of innovation in the field of mechanical engineering and spoke about plasma technologies for applying high-strength coatings.

In accordance with the interest expressed by the Chinese side, the guests were introduced to the capabilities of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, specialties and profiles of BNTU, training opportunities in master's programs for students, as well as the latest achievements in the field of digitalization, BIM technologies and the development of international cooperation at the university.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Yu.A. Nikolaychik introduced the guests to the potential of BNTU, its positions in world rankings, shared information about international programs implemented at BNTU, projects implemented with educational institutions of the People's Republic of China.

During the negotiations, the rector of BNTU S.V. Kharitonchik, emphasizing the positive results and effective experience of BNTU in implementing joint educational programs (hereinafter referred to as JOP) with Chinese universities in the field of general higher, special higher education, as well as the begun work on JOP in advanced higher education specialties education, expressed interest in developing mutually beneficial interaction with Tongji University and proposed to begin cooperation with the development and implementation of SOPs in areas of architecture and industrial construction.

The result of the meeting was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the universities by S.V. Kharitonchik and Peng Zhenwei.

Collaboration has begun. Currently, a draft roadmap for bilateral cooperation is being prepared and agreed upon.
