Future doctors touched the history in the museum-estate of Mikhail Kleofas Oginsky

It has become a good tradition on the campus of Belarusian State Medical University to form a respectful attitude among foreign students towards the historical, cultural, spiritual heritage of our people. One of the most popular forms of such work is excursions to memorable places. Every time they go on a trip, the guys get new impressions, vivid photos, a lot of emotions, immerse themselves in the historical past. In Belarus, in every region, you can find something worth seeing, from manors and castles to fortresses and museums that have not lost their former splendor. One of these attractions is the museum-estate of Mikhail Kleofas Oginsky.
A few days ago, an excursion trip of foreign students living in dormitories No. 5, No. 6, No. 7 took place to Oginsky Museum-Estate Palace and Park complex, which is included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus.
The program of the excursion was very interesting and rich. It began with a visit to the composer's house. The author of the polonaise "Farewell to the Motherland" Mikhail Kleofas Oginsky in the early 19th century built a manor in a small town of Zalesye. During her visit, students got acquainted with the biography and creative work of the composer. Every room in this house is special – here is a grand piano with an open score, it seems that the owner will return now and the music will sound. The estate also has a billiard room and, of course, a music hall, where the world-famous Oginsky polonaise was again performed for future doctors.
And there is also a greenhouse on the estate, in which rare and outlandish plants are grown, which made a great impression on the students. Then everyone went to the landscape park, which is decorated with fancy gazebos: one in the Chinese style, the second in the form of an ancient Greek temple, stylized as antiquity (the so-called temple of Amelia), named after Mikhail Cleofas Oginsky’s eldest daughter. And the highlight of the park is the island of lovers.
During the excursion trip, foreign students learned a lot of useful information, and also got aesthetic pleasure from the beauty of the Belarusian nature, were charged with positive emotions, which is very useful on the eve of the new academic year.
