Festival of culture
The first festival of traditional Chinese culture took place at the Confucius Institute of Mogilev State A. Kuleshov University on March 14, 2026. This festival was dedicated to exploring kite, an intangible element of the Chinese cultural heritage. Popularly known as the "paper kite," it has a history spanning over 2,000 years. Every stage of its design and production—from its shape, frame, and covering to painting and launch — is imbued with ingenuity. Over time the Chinese people have gradually developed a kite culture.
This event brought together listeners of the Confucius Institute, their parents and students of the faculty of foreign languages. Wang Xiaomei, director of the Confucius Institute from the Chinese side, introduced the audience to the history of kite making. Then lecturers of the Confucius institute held a master class on making kites with their own hands for all the participants. At the end of this event colorful kites rose into the air, floating in the rays of a bright spring sun.
