International Mother Language Day at Belarusian National Technic University
Every year on February 21, the International Mother Language Day is celebrated all over the world.
At the invitation of the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov, the Department of Belarusian and Russian Languages of the Faculty of International Cooperation of BNTU took part in a festive event dedicated to this day in an online format.
At the opening of the event, welcoming words were exchanged by the Vice-Rector of BNTU Nikolaychik Y.I. and the Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Protocol of TSTU Mannanov U.V. In their speeches, they noted the important role of the native language in the life of each ethnic group, emphasized the need to support endangered languages, and thanked each other for the fruitful cooperation between BNTU and TSTU.
The speeches of the guests of the event - the Chairman of the Belarusian Cultural Center "Svitanak" in Uzbekistan Tatarenko G.A. and the Chairman of the Russian Cultural Center in Uzbekistan Mironov S.A. - were bright and informative.
The literary and musical program included musical performances by representatives of cultural centers, ethnic music, and folk dances. Demonstrating folk traditions through language, students of TSTU named after I.Karimov showed presentations, recited poems, and sang songs in different languages.
The teachers and students of BNTU prepared a presentation, during which a short introduction to the rules of reading in Belarusian took place, as a result of which the Uzbek audience demonstrated the ability to read and understand text in Belarusian. BNTU students recited poems by Yanka Kupala, Maxim Tank, Ryhor Borodulin, Lidiya Polozova, Petrus Brovka, Nil Gilevich, dedicated to their native language. Uzbek students and postgraduates of the AF BNTU read the poem by Yakub Kolas "To Uzbekistan" in Uzbek, Russian and Belarusian languages, and from Tashkent a video was shown with excerpts from his poems in Belarusian and Russian, filmed near the bust of our famous poet on the Tashkent street named after him. "Moy Rodny Kut..." was heard in Belarusian in the center of the Uzbek capital!
Of course, the day was very eventful, interesting and left no one indifferent. Many thanks to our Uzbek colleagues for preparing such an event and inviting us to participate in it! We hope for further cooperation!
