Input-Output Roundtable at BSEU

10 February 2026

On January 21, a roundtable discussion on "Input-Output" was held at the Belarusian State University of Economics. It was dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding economist and Nobel Prize winner Wassily Leontief. His scientific legacy had a profound influence on the development of global economic thought and the practice of constructing input-output balances.

The discussion was attended by BSEU faculty, representatives of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and other economic experts from Belarus and Russia.

The discussion addressed current issues of applying the input-output model in modern conditions, prospects for the development of input-output balances, as well as the role of statistics and forecasting in ensuring sustainable economic growth. The roundtable became an important platform for the exchange of scientific ideas and practical experience, strengthening cooperation between the academic communities of Belarus and Russia, and promoting the legacy of Vasily Leontiev among young researchers.
