Youth project "100 ideas for CIS"

19 October 2023

The youth project “100 Ideas for the CIS” confirms that the CIS countries are building a unified scientific and technological space and pursuing a unified youth policy. This was stated by the Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets during the final of the International Youth Project of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States “100 ideas for the CIS”, which was held in Minsk. More than 80 representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus took part in the final project.

The minister noted that the emergence of a similar project in the CIS was initiated by Belarus. The event has been held for several years with the support of the Head of the Belarusian State:

– This is a project that gives a start to life for every scientific development. Today, the state aims to ensure that all the ideas of young people are not just implemented in laboratory conditions, but reach the real sector of the economy,” the minister emphasized.

The Minister noted the high level of projects submitted to the “100 Ideas for the CIS” competition. In particular, he drew attention to the active use of artificial intelligence in developments that are now in almost universal use:

– Starting from supporting people who have limited mobility, visual and hearing impairments. Technology makes it possible to make them feel comfortable and calm. We see how these technologies are being introduced into agriculture. The number of people who work in the agricultural sector is constantly decreasing because robotization and automation are taking place. Unmanned aerial vehicles come to the rescue. And our young people are very actively involved in this.

The project is being implemented with the aim of developing innovative activities, developing the scientific thinking of young people, involving them in solving problems of socio-economic development, stimulating civil initiatives to implement innovative projects and scientific and technical developments in the CIS countries.

The pilot project was implemented in April 2016 on the basis of the state institution “National Library of Belarus” in Minsk. The results of the second season of the project implementation were held at the site of the administrative complex “Pobediteley, 14” in April 2018 in Minsk. In November 2019, the final of the project took place in the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku. In October 2021, the host party was the Republic of Armenia in Kapan.
