In October, a meeting took place at the Minsk State Linguistic University within the framework of the “Vostochnaya Gostinnaya” project of the Department of Oriental Languages of the Minsk State Linguistic University.

Irina Yuryevna is a graduate of the Minsk State Linguistic University, an art critic, a Japanese specialist and the only kimono specialist in the Republic of Belarus.
During the meeting, Irina Yuryevna introduced the audience to the main components of traditional Japanese clothing, placing special emphasis on the sacred meaning of ornaments and belts.
At the end of the meeting, those present asked questions, and Irina Yuryevna wished MSLU students success in their studies, inspiration and courage in their creative pursuits.
On October 20, the International Summer School “Culture of Memory of the Great Patriotic War” ended at MSLU.
The course program, organized by the MSLU Institute for Advanced Studies, started at the university on October 8, 2023. The main goal of the training course was the historical and cultural training of students of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Pyatigorsk State University" in the specialty of "international service, tourism and hotel management."
The symbolic start of the International Summer School was the introduction of participants to the history of Minsk State Linguistic University in the framework of the lectures “Introduction to MSLU” and “MSLU: Milestones of History”. The participants were able to reveal the basics of the scientific discipline during classes devoted to the history and modernity of the Republic of Belarus.
The most important feature of the curriculum was providing students with the opportunity to master not only theoretical, but also practical skills in conducting historical analysis. While working on a project using documents from the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, students learned about modern methods of collecting historical documents, which served as a research basis for creating a chronicle of memory about the residents of Stavropol - participants in the partisan struggle on the territory of the Belarusian SSR.
Summer school participants were able to learn about the basic technologies for modeling excursion projects and master effective forms of intercultural communication as part of educational excursions on military-patriotic topics. One of the most important points of the training program was the students’ visit to the Khatyn Memorial Complex, a symbol of eternal memory and sorrow of the Belarusian people.
Along with the educational program, summer school participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the busy student life of MSLU on the eve of its 75th anniversary. The bright conclusion of the International Summer School was the summing up of the results and the presentation of certificates of completion of the educational course to the participants.
On the same day, October 20, 2023, MSLU students took part in a lecture prepared by teachers from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Zimbabwe.
The lecture took place within the framework of cooperation between the Minsk State Linguistic University and the University of Zimbabwe. 4th and 5th year students of the Faculty of English of the Moscow State Linguistic University, studying in the specialization “Foreign Literature” took part in the lecture in an online format.
MSLU students learned about the variety of genres of art and monumental buildings about the culture of the Republic of Zimbabwe during reports prepared by teachers of the University of Zimbabwe.
During the online lecture, participants had the opportunity to learn about the main features of Zimbabwean literature, which has evolved from the first works based on folklore to modern prose, poetry and drama. Of particular interest to MSLU students was the discussion of the most famous works of literature written in the national languages of Zimbabwe. The lecture was accompanied by a presentation and speach by teachers about the history, national symbols and cultural achievements of the country.
As part of the project, it is planned to hold six lectures, three of which will be devoted to the cultural heritage and literature of Belarus. Participants will be able to immerse themselves in the historical past, as well as learn about the peculiarities of the development of Belarusian literature and culture at the present stage, during lectures prepared by teachers of the Department of Foreign Literature and the Department of Belarusian Language and Literature of the Moscow State Linguistic University.
