The Week of interuniversity cooperation between BSU and Russian partner universities is organized at the university

The Week of interuniversity cooperation between BSU and Russian partner universities will be organized at the university on the eve of the anniversary of the creation of the Union State in 2024. This initiative was made by the Rector of BSU Andrei Karol at the Russian-Belarusian expert and media forum «Youth for the Union State». The event was held today, 6 December, in the format of a Moscow – Minsk video bridge. It is timed to coincide with the 24th anniversary of the signing of the Agreement on the Establishment of the Union State in order to strengthen cooperation between Russia and Belarus, support youth initiatives in science, sports and art, patriotic education and awareness-raising work.

The participants of the forum were State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, Ministers of Education and Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov and Valery Falkov, respectively, Deputy Minister of Education of Belarus Alexander Kadlubai, Head of the Representative Office of the Standing Committee of the Union State in Minsk Marianna Shchetkina and others.

The Rector of BSU Andrei Karol spoke about youth cooperation between the Belarusian university and Russian universities, as well as student projects and initiatives that are being implemented jointly with the participation of Russian colleagues. Thus, the head of the university noted that 12 joint events were organized in 2023. In particular, in May, the BSU hosted the International Forum «Light of the Great Victory», which was attended by students of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. Also in October, the International Youth Forum «Y.I.D.: Youth. Integration. Development» with the participation of representatives from five Russian universities.

Over the past two years, the BSU Student Council has concluded seven cooperation agreements with relevant structures of Russian universities. Within the framework of these documents, it is planned to organize joint events, implement projects, and exchange experience in the field of youth policy. According to the rector, this shows the motivation and desire of students of two countries to work together and strengthen friendly relations between Belarus and Russia.
