Education beyond borders

From July 10 to July 23, 2023 MSLU students took part in the project "Summer University - 2023", organized by the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin in Yekaterinburg.
The Summer University is an international educational and communication platform that allows participants from different countries to gain new knowledge in specialized areas and develop their own projects with the support of mentors from leading universities and industry experts.
This year, the educational project brought together 300 participants from 12 countries in such areas as IT Innovation in Business, Civil Engineering, Economics and Management, Jurisprudence and Social Engineering.
Thirteen students of the Minsk State Linguistic University became part of the large-scale project. Accompanied by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of English Shiley Elena Valerievna, the guys adequately represented the university during the summer program.
Joint project “Skryzhavanne. Peresechenie. Chorroha”, prepared by Anna Savinich (Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture), Sarzhenko Artyom (Faculty of German Language) together with a student from Tajikistan, was highly appreciated by the jury. As part of the project, dedicated to the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Tajikistan, the participants developed the idea of creating a virtual museum exposition reflecting the milestones in the history of both countries, the period of common history during the years of the USSR and the stage of independent formation of states in modern history.
According to the results of the assessment by the professional jury, the project became the winner in the humanitarian direction, as well as the best Russian-language project within the entire Summer University - 2023. A bright completion of the project activity was the presentation of certificates of completion of training and memorable gifts to the participants.
In addition to classes in the classrooms, a rich cultural and entertainment program awaited students. The project participants got the opportunity to learn about the city of Yekaterinburg, its historical, cultural and architectural heritage. In addition, everyone was able to express themselves during creative and sporting events.
The participants of the educational project "Summer University - 2023" learned about the leading university of the Russian Federation, gained valuable experience and useful knowledge for further successful development.
The MSLU team expresses gratitude to the Rector of the University Natalya Evgenievna Lapteva and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elena Petrovna Betena for the opportunity to take part in a large-scale event, as well as the leadership of UrFU, headed by Rector Viktor Anatolyevich Koksharov, for organizing and hosting the "Summer University - 2023".
