Foundation Programme for International Students
Promoting Belarusian higher education in the global market is a priority for Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk. A significant step in this direction was the signing of an agreement in June 2024 to deliver Polotsk University's programmes to students in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives.
The training was conducted at AIC Campus, a leading provider of transnational education in Sri Lanka and a member of the MC AIC Education Consortium – a prominent transnational conglomerate in the educational services sector.
The students studied English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. The final assessment consisted of graded tests and examinations, which were conducted on the Moodle platform. In July 2025, 47 Sri Lankan citizens successfully completed the foundation programme, receiving both state-issued certificates and university diplomas.
This programme enables foreign citizens to continue their education at universities in the Republic of Belarus, where they can study relevant specialties in general or specialized higher education in English.
On September 30, Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk hosted a visit from two AIC Campus executives: Executive Director Dr. Yerabadage Gishan Taranga and Executive Director/Finance Director Dr. Darangan Baktasilan. They met with Rector Yury Ramanouski and the Head of the International Office, Olga Zhuravskaya, to discuss plans for expanding cooperation.
Belarusian education is becoming increasingly popular among international students due to the high quality of academic programs and affordable tuition fees. In recent years, Belarus has attracted students from various countries, particularly from the CIS, Asia, and Africa. The country's universities offer a wide range of educational programs in English, making education accessible to a global audience.
Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk, remains committed to actively expanding its international partnerships and programmes. The University strives to foster an open and accessible educational environment for students worldwide.
