2 May 2024

From April 22 to 26, the Belarusian State Technological University hosted the International Youth Forum on Unmanned Vehicles “UAV - 2024”. The forum welcomed foreign students and undergraduates of BSTU.

On April 25, 2024, as part of the 4th day of the forum, a patriotic event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders took place in Brest. The event was accompanied by the laying of flowers at the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex.

In addition to the sightseeing tour, the forum participants, among whom were foreign students and guests from Myanmar, China, Uzbekistan, and Russia, visited the Brest Fortress Defense Museum. The heroic defense of the Brest Fortress is one of the brightest deeds of the Great Patriotic War of 1941 - 1945, witnessed by the ruins of the fortress, the surviving soldiers of the garrison, and objects found after excavations.

Today the exhibition area of the museum is 1270 m2. The 10 halls of the museum display about 4 thousand exhibits. Over the years of its existence, the museum has been visited by about 25 million people from 140 countries.

The excursion continued to the State Public Institution “National Park “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”, where the excursionists visited the Museum of Nature.

The Museum of Nature of the National Park, in terms of its design and richness of collections, is one of the largest and best museums of this profile in the Republic of Belarus.

The exhibitions are made as close to reality as possible, displaying the richness of the forest ecosystems of Belovezhskaya Pushcha, creating an atmosphere of presence among primeval nature. The impression is enhanced by the sounds of nature - the noise of the forest, the sound of rain, the chirping of birds, the grunting and roar of forest animals that accompany the journey through the museum.

After the museum, the participants of the youth forum at BSTU went on a sightseeing tour around Belovezhskaya Pushcha and stopped along the way for a more detailed acquaintance with the unique objects of the National Park. During the excursion, foreign participants got acquainted with the features of the primeval forest, its flora, and were able to see a 600-year-old oak, a 350-year-old pine, a hermit oak and much more.

The Brest Hero Fortress and the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park made a great impression on the excursion participants, this will definitely be remembered for a long time.
