Proposals for cooperation with Iran were discussed at BSU
They were announced during the visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Belarus Alireza Sanei. The meeting was held with the participation of BSU Rector Andrei Karol, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education Konstantin Kozadaev and Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations Vladimir Galynsky.
The honored guests were introduced to the structure and traditions of BSU, positions in world rankings, and also told about the directions of educational and scientific activities and competitive advantages of the university. The developments in the field of medicine aroused the special attention of the Iranian colleagues.
The diplomats' visit to the leading Belarusian university is conditioned by the intention to develop partnerships in the field of education and science. Cooperation in the field of academic mobility, the development of international relations, the renewal of previously existing agreements between universities of the two countries and the signing of new agreements were named as priority areas. Special attention was also paid to the issues of professional and language training of students and teachers. In particular, Alireza Sanei stressed the readiness of the Embassy to assist in organizing Persian language courses and to help with the personnel training of future representatives of the diplomatic corps of Belarus and Iran at the Faculty of International Relations (FIR) of BSU.
In addition, one of the main topics of discussion was the possibility of the Embassy allocating scholarships for interested Belarusian students who contribute to the spread of Iranian culture.
It should be noted that the parties will be able to discuss these proposals in more detail at the upcoming International Scientific and Practical Conference on the state and prospects of Belarusian-Iranian cooperation. Work on its preparation is currently underway at the FIR. The conference will be organized in October in honor of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between friendly countries.
