Exploring Belarusian Castles

14 April 2026

On 09.04.2026, international students of the preparatory department of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) took part in a cultural and educational excursion. During the trip, they learned about the history and atmosphere of one of the most interesting regions of Belarus. The excursion focused on the architecture and traditions connected with Belarusian castles – symbols of Belarus’s rich cultural heritage.

The first stop on the route was the Mir Castle Complex, a magnificent architectural ensemble that leaves a strong impression even at first sight. During the tour, the students paid attention to architectural details: elements of fortifications, the layout, and features characteristic of castle construction.

After visiting Mir, the route continued toward the city of Nesvizh – where history feels especially close. Nesvizh is known as a city closely connected with the culture and development of noble (szlachta) families, as well as with its rich architectural heritage and urban environment.

The students learned about the city’s atmosphere and understood the significance of the castle complex and its role in society. The guide explained key moments in history, while the participants actively engaged in discussion, asking questions about traditions and the meaning of individual elements of the ensemble.

The trip to the Mir Castle Complex and to the city of Nesvizh was very enjoyable for everyone. During the excursion, the students carefully explored the sights, took many photos, shared their impressions, and bought memorable souvenirs. After the trip, they sent photos to friends, posted pictures on social media to show the beauty of historic places and the atmosphere of the excursion. Overall, the trip left vivid, positive emotions and will be remembered for a long time.
