The development of Belarusian State Medical University– the HistoCloud digital platform – is presented at an international conference in China

On August 2-4, the 2nd Educational Conference of the International Alliance of Medical Education "One Belt, One Road" [Belt and Road International Medical Education Alliance (BRIMEA)], of which Belarusian State Medical University is a full member, took place in Shenyang (China). The organizers were Chinese Medical University and BRIMEA Alliance, which have been working together for many years to study and solve the problems of reform and development of medical education, improving the mechanism of cooperation between medical practice and education for the training of highly qualified medical personnel.
The conference was attended by teachers of medical universities and colleges of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Turkey, the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, the Republic of the Philippines, the Republic of South Africa, and other leading world medical universities – BRIMEA members who presented reports on the use of modern digital technologies, innovative methods in the organization of training of students of medical and biomedical specialties, and also discussed prospects in the field of digitalization of medical education and the expansion of opportunities through the meta-universe and intelligent Internet platforms.
The educational institution "Belarusian State Medical University" was represented by Associate Professor of the Department of Pathological Anatomy, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Victoria Savosh, who made an oral presentation "The place of full-slide scanned images (virtual microscopy) in the modern approach to teaching pathological anatomy." She presented to the international community the digital histological platform HistoCloud, developed by the staff of Belarusian State Medical University together with a resident of the Aibion Technologies High-Tech Park, the possibilities of its use in medical education and practical healthcare.
The conference participants also visited Northern Campus of Chinese Medical University in Shenyang, got acquainted with the expositions of the University's History Museum and the Natural Science Museum, the work of the Educational Center for Practical Skills of the Institute of International Education and Research in the Field of Medical Professions, operating on the basis of the university.
The discussion platform of the international forum provided an opportunity to outline the prospects for further cooperation with medical universities in Asia to study world experience in the development of modern educational methods.
