The School of Young Sinologist will be held at BSU
The School of Young Sinologist will be held on February 28 at the Republican Confucius Institute of Sinology at BSU (Revolutsionnaya St. 11). It will start at 13.00. The event is organized in a face-to-face distance format and is aimed at finding new areas of cooperation between the countries within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), implementation of key vectors of interaction.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People's Republic of China Alexander Chervyakov will speak at the plenary session. Deputy Director of DUT-BSU Joint Institute Guo Shuhong will present a report on “Sino-Belarusian Cooperation within the SCO". Head of the Centre of World Economy of the Institute of Economics of NAS of Belarus Tatyana Vertinskaya will speak about new opportunities for strengthening Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in science and technology, transport and logistics and trade in the SCO format. Natalia Berchenko, Director of Economic Research Institute of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus, will deliver a report “Belarus and China: promising areas of cooperation”.
More than 70 students, undergraduates, postgraduates and young scientists, as well as experts from research centers and institutes will participate in the school. These are representatives of the Belarusian State University (BSU), the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts (BSUCA), the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR), the Belarusian State Economic University (BSEU), Polessky State University, Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, research centers and institutes of economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and others. The scientists will present their works in five thematic sections. The discussion will touch upon the political and socio-economic development of modern China, the history of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation, the state and prospects of interaction between the two countries in various spheres, and the role of the Chinese language in the educational space of Belarus.
It is planned to publish a collection of scientific articles based on the results of the school.
