Counter-Strike 2 tournament among Chinese students kicked on
On April 17, a Counter-Strike 2 tournament for Chinese students from the Belarusian State University of Physical Culture and Sport (BSUPhK) kicked off at the META ARENA eSports venue in Belarus. The competition was organized with the support of the Belarusian Esports Federation.
The tournament consists of two stages: a Best of 1 (BO1) group stage, played until one victory. In the final, the teams will face a Best of 3 (BO3) team of Belarusian students. In a BO3, the teams must win two out of three maps.
The first day was truly emotional. During the most tense moments, the META ARENA became silent—only the clicking of keyboards and the captains' quiet commands. But when someone made a beautiful move or won a difficult round, the crowd erupted in applause. After hard-fought victories, some took off their headphones and smiled at their teammates, while others simply breathed a sigh of relief.
The stands were packed. Friends, classmates, and those who simply love esports had come. Some were filming highlights on their phones, while others loudly discussed tactics during breaks.
The tournament continues on May 7th. We'll be seeing the decisive group stage games and the final in a Best of 3 (BO3) format. Stay tuned for more updates.
