VSU students as volounteers during CIS Games
From August 4 to August 14, Belarus hosts the II Games of the CIS countries. At the sports grounds of Vitebsk are 24 students of Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherova, representing the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports and the Faculty of Law.
Meeting international delegations, providing assistance in accommodation and escorting to the venues of the competitions - this is only part of the duties of a volunteer group that works around the clock. The responsibilities of the guys include escorting them to their places of residence, assistance in holding competitions, helping athletes during and after fights, in the warm-up and training areas. They also perform the function of guides when foreign guests need to be oriented in the city.
Boys and girls were trained in the spring, and the main requirements were knowledge of a foreign language, communication skills and interest in sports. For volunteers, this experience is not only an opportunity to get to know the culture of other countries, but also a chance to become part of a multisport forum.
