Strengthening partnerships by sharing experiences

It is important for higher education institutions to continuously improve the educational process. Rapidly developing fields of activity and the steadily increasing rhythm of life create the need for constant communication to share experiences. Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk strives to keep up with the times and share its many years of experience.

From 27 July to 3 August, the delegation of the Tashkent Institute of Finance (Uzbekistan) paid a working visit to Polotsk University. Our university and the Tashkent Institute have been cooperating for several years and we have a joint faculty. A unique programme of stay was formed for the delegation of partners. It allows to get acquainted with the opportunities and principles of the educational process in detail, to learn the rich history of the Vitebsk region, as well as to experience the spirit and traditions of Polotsk University.
Within the framework of organized lectures and workshops, the Head of the Department of Business Accounting and Finance, Logistics and Management Elena Maley and Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting, Finance, Logistics and Management Nadezhda Boreyko introduced the guests to modern ways of organizing the educational process, as well as the creation of an innovative environment of online education.
Gavkhar Khamdamova, Doctor of Science of Economics, Professor of the Department «Management and Marketing»: «I am amazed by the nature and people of Belarus! The first impression of the university is openness and care. The atmosphere and interiors dispose to study. The university has a very pleasant environment. Each classroom is equipped well band allows for interactive ways of work. Teaching is in many ways a creative process. After all, students want not only to learn something, but also to see new things around them. We have to do our best for them. And a creator needs an environment, which you have. Your university has created all the conditions for a student to study and realise their great potential, they really need it».
The delegation got acquainted with the history of Vitebsk region through the history of its centre – ancient Vitebsk. Right during this excursion, the guests from Tashkent noted the special attitude to the history and values of the Belarusian people. And they were finally convinced of this when they visited the most ancient city of Belarus – Polotsk. The unity of the past and the present, the combination of different styles, the ability to preserve the past for posterity - these were the qualities by which our guests characterised the image not only of Polotsk, but also of the Collegium building. The spirit of the past and careful attitude to the traditions of education did not leave our guests indifferent.
The final stage of the work was a round table with the participation of the Rector of Polotsk University, Yuri Romanovskiy: «We have a long and effective partnership with one of the most landmark educational institution of Uzbekistan – the Tashkent Institute of Finance. First students of the joint educational programme graduated this year. We not only educate specialists together, but also work on academic programmes. Today your internship in Belarus is coming to an end. It has combined not only educational but also a rich cultural programme. We are always glad to discuss initiatives and proposals, and we hope for further effective cooperation in the form of improvement of joint faculty, organization of internships and other joint educational programmes. This year we plan to launch a new project – the opening of a joint master's programme. We believe that this event will be the next step in strengthening our cooperation. We are very proud to cooperate with your institute».
Professor of Tashkent Institute of Finance Akrom Karimov made a speech of gratitude: «First of all, on behalf of the delegation I would like to express my gratitude for the internship programme. It was really rich and interesting both from the point of view of experience exchange, and from the point of view of acquaintance with the history and culture of the university and the country. We appreciated your experience of attitude to the past of the educational institution. This is especially evident in the example of the Polotsk Collegium. Our acquaintance with the university buildings and educational and methodological work was comprehensive. Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk is a rich history and huge experience!»
