BSTU plans to train undergraduates and postgraduate students from China

On December 5, 2023, the Rector of the Belarusian State Technological University Igor Voitov and the Rector of the Gansu Lanzhou Institute of Information Technology (People's Republic of China) Huang Wei signed an Agreement on cooperation between universities in the field of education and science. On behalf of the Belarusian side, the signing was attended by First Vice-Rector Andrei Sakovich, Head of the Department of International Activities Olga Rogova, Head of the Department for Work with Foreign Citizens Elena Yanukovych. On behalf of the Chinese side - Vice-Rector Cheng Lanhua; Assistant Rector Yin Xueli; Head of the Education Department Zhao Haijun; Deputy Head of the International Department Cao Zirui; Director of Dunou Zhao Fuqiang.

The agreement provides for the training of bachelors, masters and graduate students from Chinese citizens at BSTU, the holding of joint summer schools, as well as the academic exchange of teachers from the two universities.

Gansu Lanzhou Institute of Information Technology currently has 15 thousand students studying in 42 undergraduate majors. The main areas of training include computer science, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, electrical engineering, and food production.

Following the meeting, rectors Igor Voitov and Huang Wei decided, as a pilot project, to identify 2-3 specialties in which Chinese students will be trained. To coordinate and adopt the final directions and training programs, a delegation of BSTU specialists is planned to visit a Chinese university in the first quarter of next 2024.
