BNTU welcomed the founder of the Spanish company "Simplicity Works Europe SL"
International cooperation plays a major role in developing and creating innovative solutions at the Belarusian National Technical University. This is why the University works closely with foreign organisations and higher education institutions in Europe and the CIS. Thus, in order to develop international cooperation between the University and the Kingdom of Spain, on November 19, the Science and Technology Park of BNTU «Polytechnic» hosted Adrián Hernández, founder and CEO of Simplicity Works Europe SL, where they patented the innovative technology «3D-Bonding».
"Synergy between Universities and companies is a key component for industrialisation in the world," said Adrián Hernández. The meeting took place on the basis of «Polytechnic» Technology Park, because it's the very place where knowledge and experience turn into the latest developments that are successfully implemented in Belarusian and foreign organizations.
Pavel Evgenievich Luschik, Deputy General Director for Innovation Activities of the Technopark, gave a tour to the guest, told about the history of the Technopark, its functions and achievements. Together they visited the rapid prototyping laboratory "FabLab", where they are now actively engaged in the production of samples for the supply and humidification of oxygen, which is a valuable contribution to the fight against Сovid-19, and evaluated the results of Ekaterina Ulyanova - one of the winners of the BNTU startup project competition.
To discuss the possibilities of cooperation in the industrial sphere, the administration of «Polytechnic» - Igor Antonovich Nelyub, Dmitry Nikolaevich Markin, director of the Polimedtech company, Pavel Evgenievich Luschik, Vladimir Timofeevich Minchenia, Leonid Yudkin, Maria Sergeevna Vysotskaya - Specialist of the Department for International Cooperation and Foreign Economic Activity, and Adrián Hernández gathered at a round table.
Adrián Hernández spoke about the achievements of his company, whose main goal today is to simplify the process of shoe production, which is achieved by using the patented "3D-Bonding" technology. For example, the main part of traditional footwear production is manual labour, which requires more than 80 operations. Spanish technology offers to make finished products in a few simple steps. In that way, the main parts of the shoe frame are placed in a three-dimensional form, and then a polymer injection joins them into the finished product. The technology reduces the use of human labour by 75% and, consequently, the cost of shoes, as well as allow companies to increase profits and reduce the percentage of risks.
The main partner of Simplicity Works Europe SL is the company «DESMA», known for its breakthroughs in automation. It is a manufacturer and supplier of modern equipment for manufacturing rubber and silicone products. The next most important aspect for the Spanish company is communication with Universities and their technology parks, as this allows both the organisation and the University to apply their experience and jointly improve the equipment. Now the Spanish company specializes in the production of footwear, but work is planned for the automotive industry in the near future. We hope that the meeting with Adrián Hernández would mark the beginning of a process of cooperation between Simplicity Works Europe SL and BNTU, the national brand for technical education.
