Kupala University hosted interactive seminar-discussion for foreign students
An interactive seminar-discussion on the topic "Analysis of approaches to studying the flexibility and rigidity of Belarusian and Chinese students" was held at the Faculty of Psychology of the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. Students from the People's Republic of China took part in the seminar. The speaker of the seminar was the head of the Department of General and Social Psychology, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor Angela Pevneva.
Within the framework of the topic, special attention was paid to the role of flexibility - rigidity in the process of adaptation of foreign students from China to the conditions of the socio-cultural and educational environment. On the one hand, rigidity largely hinders changes and adaptation of the individual to new conditions. On the other hand, rigidity is a protective mechanism of the individual, allowing to preserve space for its stability in the flow of innovations and transformations.
Formation of new conceptual knowledge contributes to the liberation of students' intellectual capabilities, improves their skills in oral speech in an intercultural space, listening, hearing and understanding others, and conducting a discourse correctly and reasonably.
Kupala University strives to create and maintain a friendly atmosphere so that all students, including foreign students, could feel at home. Teachers and staff are always ready to listen to students and provide the necessary support.
