Delegation from Zhejiang Shuren University visited Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk from November 21 to 25, with the aim of developing partnership ties and establishing an international education system.

At the plenary session of the International Scientific Conference “Interdisciplinary research – drivers of educational transformation", the rector of Polotsk University, Yury Ramanouski, extended a warm welcome to the guests and presented the report “Multidisciplinary scientific research is the basis for the development of scientific, educational and innovative potential of Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk".

Yury Ramanouski, Rector of Polotsk University: "Implementing unique multidisciplinary research projects and stimulating the work of project teams allows the university to bring its scientific and technical developments to an international level, confirm its high academic reputation, systematically implement its strategy of innovative leadership, and influence the scientific and innovative component of the socio-economic development of the region and the country.

We are very interested in developing our joint activities, and today at the Forum we will be able to discuss the most promising areas of our cooperation, including the implementation of joint educational programmes, conducting joint scientific research in various fields, and the creation of international research teams.

Professor Li Lu, Rector of Zhejiang Shuren University and head of the delegation, gave a welcoming speech in response. He presented a report entitled “Strategy for Invigorating China through Science and Education: The Role of Privately-run Higher Education Institutions”

Li Lu, Rector of Zhejiang Shuren University: " We convened in Polotsk to discuss the future of quality education development in the context of interdisciplinary research and the development of interdisciplinary concepts. The foundation and strategic support for modernization in the Chinese model are education, science, and technology, as well as highly qualified specialists. Science and education are the primary productive forces contributing to the development of the country. I have the honor of presenting China's national development strategy through science and education, as well as the role of higher education in this area, using Zhejiang Shuren University as an example”.

The signing of cooperation documents between Polotsk University and Zhejiang Shuren University in the scientific and educational sector was a significant event on the first day of work. This agreement provides a broad range of opportunities for the development of joint projects. A comprehensive introductory programme was developed for the delegation in order to gain a better understanding of the potential of Polotsk University in the scientific and economic sectors.

The practical session in the laboratory centers of Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk presented the university's innovations in the areas of smart education and communication technologies, as well as the priority sectors of the Republic of Belarus' economy, such as oil and gas processing and transportation.

The second day of the conference was dedicated to the exchange of experiences between Belarusian and Chinese colleagues. The sectional meetings addressed a diverse array of subjects that were pertinent to the economies and sciences of both nations. The objective of the "Interdisciplinary Research in the Humanities" section was to encourage the exchange of knowledge among experts in the disciplines of anthropology, archaeology, socio-cultural anthropology, psychology, and pedagogy. A particularly relevant subject was the impact of digitalization on education and the safeguarding of historical and cultural heritage.

The activities of the section "Engineering Solutions in the Field of Ecology and Rational Use of Natural Resources" concentrated on tackling challenges associated with qualitative construction methods and the utilization of materials designed to alleviate adverse environmental impacts.

During their visit to the Polotsk Collegium, representatives from Zhejiang Shuren University immersed themselves in the rich history and esteemed traditions of Polotsk University. The agenda included an exploration of significant projects dedicated to the study of both the university's and the region's history. Moreover, the strategic session titled "Classical and Modern Concepts of Education" provided the visiting colleagues with a firsthand look at traditional and innovative methodologies are integrated into the educational and research systems at Polotsk University.

The university guests were given a unique chance to enhance their knowledge of the culture and history of the Belarusian people in the historic city of Polotsk, an important center of our country's statehood.

The outcomes of the working visit by the delegation from Zhejiang Shuren University clearly demonstrate the significant scientific and educational capabilities of Polotsk University, which has attracted international attention. At present, Polotsk University can rightly be regarded as a higher education institution dedicated to fostering an environment for education that transcends national boundaries!
