Chinese Ambassador on visit at Vitebsk State University
VSU, July 10. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan visited VSU named after Petr Masherov. The honored guest was welcomed at the doorway in accordance with the best university traditions.
An exhibition of the achievements of Chinese students was organized in the university lobby. Currently, about 1,000 students from china study at VSU. As part of the exhibition, a Chinese tea ceremony and an introduction to the high results of the university's research, sports, and innovation-project activities were also held.
On the VSU stage, students demonstrated their best vocal and choreographic acts from their arsenal of "winning performances." Among them is a joint performance of Belarusian and Chinese students, "Kalinka," which has won the sympathy of the audience and reflects national colors.
After that, negotiations were held between the members of the delegation of the diplomatic mission of the Embassy of China in the Republic of Belarus and the university management, and a personal meeting of Mr. Zhang Wenchuan with Masherov students from China took place.
Mr. Zhang Wenchuan also got acquainted with the final works of Chinese master's students and students of the art and graphic department. As a lasting memory, Masherov students presented Mr. Ambassador with his portrait, made by the famous artist, teacher of the Department of Fine Arts Sergei Sotnikov. Belarusian students also did not miss the opportunity to demonstrate their success in mastering the Chinese language and culture.
The program of the visit included VSU Botanical Garden, where the International Alley of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory is located.
