The fourth stage of the Union State Spartakiad was taking place in Brest from November 12 to 15. It was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the 25th anniversary of the Union State.

This Spartakiad is being held for the 21st time. The Union State Spartakiad consists of four stages, two of which were held in Russia, the last two will be held in Belarus. This year, the sports events were hosted by Volgograd and Volzhsky, now the participants met in Brest, the last stage will be held in Gomel. BSUIR was represented by the women's volleyball team. The girls fought with dignity against the opposing teams.
